Meet Our Teachers
Mrs. McPherson, 5th - 8th Grades
Hi! My name is Susan McPherson. I grew up in the Sandhills of Nebraska in a little town of 2,300 people called Valentine, NE. After graduating from Chadron State College, I began teaching for Kansas-Nebraska Conference of Seventh Day Adventists, then later Dakota Conference. I taught in Fredonia, KS, Pierre, SD, and then settled in Jamestown, ND.
I enjoy teaching and strive to provide students with an education that will "stand the test of time", as well as introduce them to the One who makes all life and happiness, as well as success, possible: Jesus Christ. Most, but not all, of my students have come from Christian homes, so my goal is to reinforce the values that they bring from their home environment. I love interacting with the students on a spiritual level and have also enjoyed visiting with their parents to collaborate with them and give their student the best of both the spiritual and educational worlds.
My hobbies are spending time with my children and grandchildren, traveling with my husband, walking, crocheting, reading, and many others.
Please stop in my classroom and visit with me whenever you are able. I would love to meet with you and talk with you about how Christian education can benefit you and your child.
Mrs. Coto, 1st - 4th Grades
Hello Hillcrest families! I grew up here in the peaceful North Dakota countryside on my family's farm and ranch. I'm thrilled that God has brought me back to this beautiful state after college and three years of teaching in Nebraska.
Because children are such a precious gift from God, I consider teaching a privilege. I love working with children of all ages and appreciate the opportunity to nurture young lives. My goal is to make my classroom a haven of love and learning while ever introducing my students to my best friend, Jesus.
When I'm not in my classroom, you might find me out for a run, enjoying sports, photography, and a variety of my favorite arts and crafts. I'm thrilled to become part of the Hillcrest family and look forward to getting to know each of you better.
